DRY HYDRANT TESTING
Much of fire protection involves preparation. You may see
fire department members periodically testing "dry hydrants."
These are the white plastic pipes nearby ponds in town,
and they help provide water to fire apparatus when needed.
When you see us on the road testing,
slow down and give us a wave!

PROPANE DRILL
Members of the Ashford Fire Department, along with those
from Eastford, Chaplin and several other departments,
participated in a propane gas fire drill recently.
The drill was conducted at the Eastford Independent
Fire Company with instruction provided by employees
of the gas company who are also  firefighters.
