STATIONS
Completed in 2004, Station 20 is
approximately 10,000 square feet and
houses two fire engines (ET120 and
ET220), the ambulance (R520), the
service truck (S120), and the boat
(M120). The station also contains a
meeting room, kitchen, bunk room,
and administrative offices. It is located
on Route 89, just north of the
intersection at Route 44.
Constructed in the late 1950s or early
1960s, Station 220 was the original
station for a rival department, the Lake
Chaffee Volunteer Fire Department. In
1978, the Ashford Volunteer Fire
Department acquired the building shortly
after becoming the sole provider of fire
suppression and emergency medical
services for the town. Station 220 is
approximately 3,000 square feet and
houses two fire engines (ET320 and
ET420), a meeting room, a bunk room,
and an office. It is located on Old Town
Road at the southern end of Lake Chaffee
just off Route 89.
