AVFD is hosting a Legislative Update by State Representative Pat Boyd and State Senator Jeff Gordon on Wednsday, March 18th at 6:30 pm.
Following the update, AVFD Administration will host a public forum on the department's 2026-2027 budget request. (Approxiamately 8:00pm)
We invite you to join us for an open public forum on Wednesday, March 18th at 8:00 PM, following the legislative update session, to discuss the Ashford Volunteer Fire Department’s proposed 2026–2027 budget. The gathering will be held at our fire station on Rt 89 (46 Westford Rd).
This forum is open to everyone who has questions, concerns, or simply wants to better understand the significant increase in this year’s budget and how it directly supports our ability to serve the community safely, effectively, and without interruption.
Our goal is full transparency.
We encourage you to come, ask questions, and hear the facts behind the budget increase—why it is necessary, how it strengthens emergency response, and what it means for the residents we proudly serve.
This is a needs‑based increase, not a want, and your engagement is an important part of the process. We hope to see you there and look forward to an open, respectful, and informative conversation.
